Johnny Ribeiro - Ranger Western Sydney Parklands Trust.
I was born and raised in the inner city of Sydney and like so many others have witnessed our green space make way for the urban sprawl. Over the years I have made my way further and further west.
My wife and I have 2 young girls and believe it is extremely important for their upbringing to have and preserve the limited amount of natural bushland and open green space we have left.
When I found out that I would be working at the Western Sydney Parklands I felt like a kid in a lolly shop, so much to see and choose from, it was difficult to contain my excitement. The parklands are the most enjoyable place to visit and work in.
With so much to see and do I truly feel privileged to be a part of this great location. Hope to see you out there.
Vicky Townsend - Ranger Western Sydney Parklands Trust
Growing up on a leafy 5 acre property at Galston in the Hills District of Sydney, I would play in the stream catching tadploes and looking for crayfish under the rocks or searching for dinosaur footprints in the sandstone. As a teenager I spent a lot of time bushwalking, riding horses and camping out.
I have a profound appreciation of nature and wide open spaces. I provide my teenage children with a rural lifestyle surrounded by horses, dogs and farmyard animals. I hope this will give them the love and peace of life you develop living in the bush.
I recently moved back to Sydney after 20 years on the Mid North Coast of NSW and have found the perfect job working for the Western Sydney Parklands Trust.
I feel honoured to help care for 5000 hectares of Parkland in the heart of Sydneys West. I want to help protect the environment and preserve what bush we have left. I also enjoy the diverse character of the Park and will do my best to provide equal opportunity for people to enjoy their recreation and sporting activities. Looking forward to meeting you all out there!
