Future Farming

The Western Sydney Parklands Trust, with the support of other NSW Government agencies, research and education institutions and the private sector has initiated the Future Farming Program.

Future Farming in Western Sydney Parklands is about

  • commercial farming - greenhouses, market gardens, livestock and orchards
  • applied research and development in urban farming, farm production and sustainable technologies
  • industry training, employment pathways and community education
  • agri-tourism, farmers markets, food festivals

Western Sydney Parklands is the site for this exciting initiative. 500 hectares of Parklands will be set aside for farming. An information session was held for the program on Tuesday 7 September 2010 with over 60 people in attendance. Click through to find out what was said.
