The Hon. Robyn Parker, Minister for Environment, invites nominations for persons interested in filling a vacancy on the Western Sydney Parklands Trust Board and its Audit and Risk Committee. Board appointments are up to 3 years.
The Western Sydney Parklands is a major initiative of the NSW Government to provide for the future recreation needs of Western Sydney. The Parklands run in a 27km corridor along the M4 and M7 motorways and between the north and south west land release areas and the Western Sydney Employment Hub through Blacktown, Fairfield and Liverpool.
Reporting direct to the Minister for Environment, the Board's role is to lead the ongoing implementation of the parklands plan of management, providing strategic leadership and high level of advice for the Parkland's ongoing sustainable development.Contact:

Other Criteria demonstrated by candidate may include:
* Pre-qualified, or with experience to become pre-qualified to chair a government audit committee.
* Experience in managing people, organisations or activities related to the Trust's functions.
* Ability to handle complex issues and offer innovative solutions.
* Ability to work harmoniously with other board members while providing robust debate as appropriate.
* Ability to promote a sense of confidence about the Trust within the broader community.
* Legal, educational or communication skills.
* A strategic focus on the diverse communities which the Trust serves.
* Ability to identify and avoid conflict of interests.
* Membership or eligibility for the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
* An understanding of Western Sydney, its community trends and demographics along with a familiarity with the concerns of Western Sydney including local governments.
