Calmsley Hill City Farm played host to the 2012 Western Sydney Environment Calendar Launch Event on 16 November 2011. The theme for the 2012 Calendar was 'Bring Back the Bush' which encouraged students to portray, through their artworks, the importance of creating and extending the natural bushland in Western Sydney. Around 500 entries were received.
14 winning and 16 highly commended artworks were on display and the student artists were presented with their awards by Andrew Rohan MP, State Member for Smithfield, Dr Geoff Lee Mp, State Member for Parramatta and Bart Bassett MP, State Member for Londonderry.
Students and guests were treated to a native animal walk and talk, courtesy of The Farm and a buffet lunch. The Western Sydney Environmental Calendar Program is managed by Western Sydney Parklands Trust and is open to all NSW Government primary school children from the Greater Western Sydney region.
