Food and beverage

The event organiser, promoter or hirer is responsible for obtaining all relevant food and beverage licences as required. 

1. Food Authority Licence 

The event organiser, promoter or hirer must ensure all food vendors have: 

• a current NSW Food Authority licence (this applies only to specific food businesses in sectors covered by a Regulation under the Food Act 2003 (NSW); 

or 

• notified the NSW Food Authority of their proposed food activity. This applies to most other food businesses including mobile food vending and businesses which sell any type of food or food ingredient as part of their business. For more information, visit the NSW Food Authority website

Not-for-profit fundraising events such as sausage sizzles are exempt.

2. Liquor Licence 

The event organiser, promoter or hirer is responsible for obtaining all relevant liquor licences from the Office of Liquor and Gaming Authority (OLGA) to sell or supply alcohol at an event. Applications for a limited licence must be made at least 28 days prior to the event. For more information, visit the Liquor & Gaming NSW website

Alcohol Management Plan 

The event organiser, promoter or hirer must provide an Alcohol Management Plan (AMP) in accordance with OLGR requirements. If a liquor license is not provided in accordance with the agreement, alcohol will not be permitted to be sold at the event. For more information, refer to this event plan
